As a person who has a background in fine arts and design I found this book really helpful in developing my skills for fashion design. It really captures everything you need to know in order to get it started with fashion design on the right foot. It has 5 chapters: introduction to fashion, design foundations, developing your design process, assignments and the professional world. Amongst other things it incorporates a short but explicit and full fashion history, names of important designers and short description of their work, how to do the research,choose colours, fabrics and everything when developing your own designs, how to create mood boards, garment construction, croquis and inspiration books. After you learn all you need to know about HOW to create a clothing line then the book takes you further and gives you assignments TO DO like architecture, historical personality, nature and more. There are about 14 different assignments for you to do and get you started with fashion designing. After you finish those steps the book takes you even further and teaches you about the PROFESSIONAL LIFE for example how to build and effective CV, a portfolio and so on.

I am very pleased with this book and it really opened up my mind when thinking of fashion. Everything seems more clear and exact in my head and it is really helpful for people who wish to learn the basics very quickly and get on with their drawings. It helps you set real goals and has very easy to follow steps while developing the design so that everything has an order and sense.

For someone with no fashion background, it can be a struggle for when it comes to trying to stand out from the crowd.

This book is for those who need inside information, and for those who want to make it into the fashion world with a bang.

it is truly great and really worth the money.

I will recommend it to all.
