"Vogue" Fashion

Not so much as a review but a word of warning with this one. I purchased this book for my girlfriend after looking on her bookshelf and noticing she didn't have this book and thought she might like it...however, when it arrived she swiftly noticed she had bought this EXACT book several years ago but the book has been re-published with a DIFFERENT COVER AND TITLE! Therefore those who already own '20th Century Fashion by Linda Watson' should be warned that you are buying the same book with 'Vogue' attached to it to get rid of a few extra copies

Also, i was expecting lavish pictures and inspiration taken from Vogue throughout the years but the book is predominantly just a list of fashion designers, their date of birth/death and snippets of information about each that never really gets into enough detail (this occupies just over half of the book).

I had high hopes for this book and but sadly it failed to deliver really. My final piece of advice would be to look at the book in a bookshop and see if it is right for you before you purchase it on Amazon (and reap the savings on the price that Amazon has to offer).

A fantastic 'Must Have' book if you want to be the next generation of fashion professionals. I teach on a fashion course and I'm always astounded at the lack of knowledge my students have about our rich heritage of fashion designers. From the hugely influential stars to the lesser known contributors to the fashion world. An A to Z of who's who with concise write ups and great imagery. I recommend all my students to buy this book.
